Joshua 23:7-9
New International Version
7 Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear(A) by them. You must not serve them or bow down(B) to them. 8 But you are to hold fast to the Lord(C) your God, as you have until now.
9 “The Lord has driven out before you great and powerful nations;(D) to this day no one has been able to withstand you.(E)

8 But cleave unto the Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day.
9 For the Lord hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
