19 Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve the Lord, (A)for He is a holy God. He is (B)a jealous God; (C)He will not forgive your transgression or your sins. 20 (D)If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you after He has done good to you.” 21 The people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord.”

19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God;(A) he is a jealous God.(B) He will not forgive(C) your rebellion(D) and your sins. 20 If you forsake the Lord(E) and serve foreign gods, he will turn(F) and bring disaster(G) on you and make an end of you,(H) after he has been good to you.”
21 But the people said to Joshua, “No! We will serve the Lord.”
