31 And Israel [a]served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the Elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord that he had done for Israel.

32 And the (A)bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem in a parcel of ground, which Jacob bought of (B)the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem, for an hundred pieces of silver, and the children of Joseph had them in their inheritance.

33 Also Eleazar the son of Aaron died, whom they buried in [b]the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.

31 Israel served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders(A) who outlived him and who had experienced everything the Lord had done for Israel.

32 And Joseph’s bones,(B) which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt,(C) were buried at Shechem in the tract of land(D) that Jacob bought for a hundred pieces of silver[a] from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem. This became the inheritance of Joseph’s descendants.

33 And Eleazar son of Aaron(E) died and was buried at Gibeah,(F) which had been allotted to his son Phinehas(G) in the hill country(H) of Ephraim.
