GOD’S WORD Translation
9 Then Balak, son of King Zippor of Moab, fought Israel. He summoned Balaam, son of Beor, to curse you. 10 But I refused to listen to Balaam. All he could do was bless you. So I saved you from his power.
11 “Then you crossed the Jordan River and came to Jericho. The citizens of Jericho, the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites fought you. But I handed them over to you.

9 When Balak son of Zippor,(A) the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor(B) to put a curse on you.(C) 10 But I would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you(D) again and again, and I delivered you out of his hand.
11 “‘Then you crossed the Jordan(E) and came to Jericho.(F) The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites,(G) Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites,(H) but I gave them into your hands.(I)
