9 Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab,(A) set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you, 10 but I would not listen to Balaam. Instead, he repeatedly blessed you, and I delivered you from his hand.
11 “‘You then crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho.(B) The people of Jericho—as well as the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites—fought against you, but I handed them over to you.

9 When Balak son of Zippor,(A) the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor(B) to put a curse on you.(C) 10 But I would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you(D) again and again, and I delivered you out of his hand.
11 “‘Then you crossed the Jordan(E) and came to Jericho.(F) The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites,(G) Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites,(H) but I gave them into your hands.(I)
