2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make for yourself (A)flint knives and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.” 3 So Joshua made himself flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at [a]Gibeath-haaraloth. 4 This is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: (B)all the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way after they came out of Egypt.

2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives(A) and circumcise(B) the Israelites again.” 3 So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at Gibeath Haaraloth.[a]
4 Now this is why he did so: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of military age(C)—died in the wilderness on the way after leaving Egypt.(D)
