Joshua 8:25-27
Easy-to-Read Version
25 All the people of Ai died that day; there were 12,000 men and women. 26 Joshua had held his spear toward Ai as a sign to his people to destroy the city. And he did not stop until all the people of Ai were destroyed. 27 The Israelites kept the animals and other things from the city for themselves. This is what the Lord said they could do when he gave Joshua the commands.

New International Version
25 Twelve thousand men and women fell that day—all the people of Ai.(A) 26 For Joshua did not draw back the hand that held out his javelin(B) until he had destroyed[a](C) all who lived in Ai.(D) 27 But Israel did carry off for themselves the livestock and plunder of this city, as the Lord had instructed Joshua.(E)
