¹⁷ Then the sons of Israel set out and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were ^(A)Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.

²¹ So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of ^(A)Kiriath-jearim, saying, “The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord; come down and take it up to yourselves.”

² From the day that the ark remained at Kiriath-jearim, the ^[a]time was long, for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel ^[b]mourned after the Lord.
