^10 (A)And the Lord brought them into confusion before Israel, and He struck them down in a great defeat at Gibeon, and pursued them by the way of the ascent to Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

¹² Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord turned the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,

²⁵ Then David did so, just as the Lord had commanded him; he struck and killed the Philistines from ^[a](A)Geba ^[b]as far as ^(B)Gezer.

¹⁶ David did just as God had commanded him, and they defeated the army of the Philistines from ^[a]Gibeon even as far as Gezer.
