⁷ so that you will not ^[a]associate with these nations, these which remain among you, or ^(A)mention the name of their gods, or ^(B)make anyone swear by them, or ^(C)serve them, or bow down to them.

¹⁶ Then if they will really ^(A)learn the ways of My people, to ^(B)swear by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ even as they taught My people to ^(C)swear by Baal, they will be ^(D)built up in the midst of My people.
