²⁶ Then they erected over him a large heap of stones that stands to this day, and the Lord turned from the fierceness of His anger. Therefore the name of that place has been called ^(A)the Valley of ^[a]Achor to this day.

²⁵ Then David built there an altar to the Lord, and he offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And ^(A)the Lord responded to prayer for the land, and the plague was ^[a]withdrawn from Israel.
