¹² Also ^(A)the Sidonians ^(B)and Amalekites and ^[a]Maonites ^(C)oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand.

²⁴ So they arose and went to Ziph before Saul. But David and his men were in the Wilderness ^(A)of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

²⁵ When Saul and his men went to seek him, they told David. Therefore he went down ^[a]to the rock, and stayed in the Wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued David in the Wilderness of Maon.

Death of Samuel

25 Then ^(A)Samuel died; and the Israelites gathered together and ^(B)lamented for him, and buried him at his home in Ramah. And David arose and went down ^(C)to the Wilderness of ^[a]Paran.
