Then he returned and told his father and mother, “In Timnah I saw a woman of Philistine origin.”[a] He ordered them, “Get her for me as a wife. Now!”[b]

His father and mother asked him, “Isn’t there a woman suitable[c] among the daughters of your relatives or among all of our people, since you’re going to get your[d] wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?”

But Samson retorted to his father, “Get her for me, since she looks fine to me.” Meanwhile, his father and mother did not know that she was from the Lord, because he had been seeking a favorable opportunity concerning the Philistines, since[e] the Philistines were dominating Israel at that time.

His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people?(B) Must you go to the uncircumcised(C) Philistines to get a wife?(D)

But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.” (His parents did not know that this was from the Lord,(E) who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines;(F) for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)(G)
