13 So they forsook the Lord, and served (A)Baal, and [a]Ashtoreth.

14 And the wrath of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers, that spoiled them, and he (B)sold them into the hands of their enemies round about them, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

15 [b]Whithersoever they went out, the [c]hand of the Lord was sore against them, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: so he punished them sore.

He sold them(F) into the hands of their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.(G) 15 Whenever Israel went out to fight, the hand of the Lord was against them(H) to defeat them, just as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.(I)
