⁶ I hate those who cling to worthless idols;^(A)
    as for me, I trust in the Lord.^(B)

⁴ Blessed is the one^(A)
    who trusts in the Lord,^(B)
who does not look to the proud,^(C)
    to those who turn aside to false gods.^[a](D)

²⁵ This is your lot,
    the portion^(A) I have decreed for you,”
declares the Lord,
“because you have forgotten^(B) me
    and trusted in false gods.^(C)

¹⁹ Lord, my strength and my fortress,
    my refuge^(A) in time of distress,
to you the nations will come^(B)
    from the ends of the earth and say,
“Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods,^(C)
    worthless idols^(D) that did them no good.^(E)
