13 He gathered the children of Ammon and Amalek to himself; and he went and struck Israel, and they possessed the city of palm trees. 14 The children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years. 15 But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

13 Getting the Ammonites(A) and Amalekites(B) to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.[a](C) 14 The Israelites were subject to Eglon king of Moab(D) for eighteen years.
15 Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer(E)—Ehud(F), a left-handed(G) man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute(H) to Eglon king of Moab.
