14 The Israelites served Eglon king of Moab 18 years.

15 Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and He raised up Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed(A) Benjaminite,[a] as a deliverer for them. The Israelites sent him to Eglon king of Moab with tribute(B) money.

16 Ehud made himself a double-edged sword 18 inches long.[b] He strapped it to his right thigh under his clothes

15 Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer(B)—Ehud(C), a left-handed(D) man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute(E) to Eglon king of Moab. 16 Now Ehud(F) had made a double-edged sword about a cubit[a] long, which he strapped to his right thigh under his clothing.
