14 And the Israelites[a] served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years.

15 And the Israelites[b] cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud son of Gera, a Benjaminite and a left-handed man.[c] And the Israelites[d] sent a tribute to Eglon king of Moab through him.[e] 16 Ehud made for himself a short, two-edged[f] sword (a cubit in length), and he fastened it under his clothes on his right thigh.

15 Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer(B)—Ehud(C), a left-handed(D) man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute(E) to Eglon king of Moab. 16 Now Ehud(F) had made a double-edged sword about a cubit[a] long, which he strapped to his right thigh under his clothing.
