3 And the sons of Israel cried unto the LORD, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and he had mightily oppressed the sons of Israel for twenty years.
4 ¶ And a woman judged Israel at that time, Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth.
5 This Deborah dwelt under a palm tree between Ramah and Bethel in Mount Ephraim, and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment.

New International Version
3 Because he had nine hundred chariots fitted with iron(A) and had cruelly oppressed(B) the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the Lord for help.
4 Now Deborah,(C) a prophet,(D) the wife of Lappidoth, was leading[a] Israel at that time. 5 She held court(E) under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah(F) and Bethel(G) in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.
