5 These enemy hordes arrived on droves of camels too numerous to count and stayed until the land was completely stripped and devastated. 6-7 So Israel was reduced to abject poverty because of the Midianites. Then at last the people of Israel began to cry out to the Lord for help.

5 They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts.(A) It was impossible to count them or their camels;(B) they invaded the land to ravage it. 6 Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out(C) to the Lord for help.
