8 the Lord sent the Israelites a prophet[a] who said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘I brought you up from the land of Egypt, bringing you forth from the land of your slavery. 9 I delivered you out of the hands of the Egyptians, out of the hands of everyone who oppressed you. I drove them out before you and gave you their land. 10 I said to you, “I am the Lord, your God. Do not show reverence to the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.” But you did not listen to my voice.’ ”

8 he sent them a prophet,(A) who said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt,(B) out of the land of slavery.(C) 9 I rescued you from the hand of the Egyptians. And I delivered you from the hand of all your oppressors;(D) I drove them out before you and gave you their land.(E) 10 I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; do not worship(F) the gods of the Amorites,(G) in whose land you live.’ But you have not listened to me.”
