¹⁵ The bramble said to the trees,
“If you really are anointing me
as king over you,
come and find refuge in my shade.
But if not,
may fire come out from the bramble
and consume the cedars of Lebanon.”

²³ You have mocked the Lord^[a] through^[b] your messengers.^(A)
You have said, ‘With my many chariots^(B)
I have gone up to the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon.
I cut down its tallest cedars,
its choice cypress trees.
I came to its farthest outpost,
its densest forest.

⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.^(A)

¹⁵ His legs are alabaster pillars
set on pedestals of pure gold.
His presence is like Lebanon,^(A)
as majestic as the cedars.^(B)

¹³ against all the cedars of Lebanon,^(A)
lofty and lifted up,
against all the oaks of Bashan,^(B)
