6 then they said to him, “Say Shibboleth.” If he said, “Sibboleth,” because he could not pronounce it correctly, they would seize him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time forty-two thousand Ephraimites were killed.
7 Jephthah was a judge over Israel for six years. Jephthah the Gileadite died, and he was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
Ibzan.[a] 8 After him, Ibzan of Bethlehem was a judge over Israel.

- Judges 12:8 The judgeships of Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon over the next 25 years are briefly mentioned. As we move further away from the Israelites’ initial entry into the Promised Land, the less we hear of any spiritual leaders among them.
