¹⁹ Whenever the judge died, the Israelites would act even more corruptly^(A) than their fathers, going after other gods to worship and bow down to them. They did not turn from their evil practices or their obstinate^(B) ways.

²⁶ However, they wouldn’t listen to Me or pay attention but became obstinate;^[a](A) they did more evil than their ancestors.^(B)

¹² You did more evil than your fathers.^(A) Look, each one of you was following the stubbornness of his evil heart, not obeying Me.
