4 And all of the same spiritual drink drank, for they were drinking from a spiritual TZUR following them [SHEMOT 17:6; BAMIDBAR 20:11; TEHILLIM 78:15; 105:41], and that TZUR was Moshiach.
5 But Hashem was not pleased with most of them, for they were strewn about in the desert, VAYISHCHATEM BAMIDBAR ("then He slaughtered them in the desert" [BAMIDBAR 14:16, 23,29-30; TEHILLIM 78:31).
6 Now these things occurred as moftim (examples) for us, in order that we would not crave what is ra’ah as they did. [BAMIDBAR 11:4,34; TEHILLIM 106:14]

4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock(A) that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.(B)
6 Now these things occurred as examples(C) to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.
