Lamentations 2:9-11
New American Standard Bible 1995
9 Her (A)gates have sunk into the ground,
He has destroyed and broken her bars.
Her king and her princes are among the nations;
The (B)law is no more.
Also, her prophets find
(C)No vision from the Lord.
10 The elders of the daughter of Zion
(D)Sit on the ground, they (E)are silent.
They have thrown (F)dust on their heads;
They have girded themselves with (G)sackcloth.
The (H)virgins of Jerusalem
Have bowed their heads to the ground.
11 My (I)eyes fail because of tears,
My [a](J)spirit is greatly troubled;
My [b](K)heart is poured out on the earth
(L)Because of the [c]destruction of the daughter of my people,
When (M)little ones and infants faint
In the streets of the city.
