⁶ For the ^[a]wrongdoing of the daughter of my people
Is greater than the ^[b](A)sin of Sodom,
Which was ^(B)overthrown as in a moment,
^[c]And no hands were turned toward her.
⁷ Her ^[d]consecrated ones were ^(C)purer than snow,
They shined more than milk;
They were more ruddy in ^[e]body than pearls of coral,
Their form was like ^[f](D)lapis lazuli.
⁸ Their appearance is ^(E)darker than soot,
They are not recognized in the streets;
Their ^(F)skin is shriveled on their bones,
It is dry, it has become like wood.
