²⁷ “‘If in spite of this you still do not listen to me^(A) but continue to be hostile toward me, ²⁸ then in my anger^(B) I will be hostile^(C) toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over.^(D)

⁵ For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater^(A)—has any inheritance^(B) in the kingdom of Christ and of God.^{[a](C) 6} Let no one deceive you^(D) with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath^(E) comes on those who are disobedient.^(F)

⁸ But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil,^(A) there will be wrath and anger.^(B)

⁹ There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil:^(A) first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;^(B)

¹³ “‘Now your impurity is lewdness. Because I tried to cleanse you but you would not be cleansed^(A) from your impurity, you will not be clean again until my wrath against you has subsided.^(B)
