⁴⁵ “As for the person who has the leprous infection, his clothes shall be torn and ^(A)the hair of his head shall be ^[a]uncovered, and he shall ^(B)cover his ^[b]mustache and call out, ‘^(C)Unclean! Unclean!’ ⁴⁶ He shall remain unclean all the days during which he has the infection; he is unclean. He shall live alone; he shall live ^(D)outside the camp.

² “Command the sons of Israel that they ^(A)send away from the camp everyone with leprosy, everyone having a ^(B)discharge, and everyone who is ^(C)unclean because of contact with a dead person. ³ You shall send away both male and female; you shall send them outside the camp so that they do not defile their camp where I dwell ^(D)in their midst.” ⁴ And the sons of Israel did so and sent them outside the camp; just as the Lord had spoken to Moses, that is what the sons of Israel did.

¹⁰ But when the cloud had withdrawn from above the tent, behold, ^(A)Miriam was leprous, as ^(B)white as snow. As Aaron turned toward Miriam, behold, she was leprous. ¹¹ Then Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, I beg you, ^(C)do not ^[a]hold us responsible for this sin by which we have turned out to be foolish, and by which we have sinned. ¹² Oh, do not let her be like a dead person, whose flesh is half eaten away when he comes out of his mother’s womb!” ¹³ So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “God, ^(D)heal her, please!” ¹⁴ But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had only ^(E)spit in her face, would she not be put to shame for seven days? Have her shut ^(F)outside the camp for seven days, and afterward she may be received again.”
