² “These are the regulations for any diseased person at the time of their ceremonial cleansing, when they are brought to the priest:^{(A) 3} The priest is to go outside the camp and examine them.^(B) If they have been healed of their defiling skin disease,^[a](C)

² “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When any man has an unusual bodily discharge,^(A) such a discharge is unclean.

⁴ “‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease^[a] or a bodily discharge,^(A) he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse^(B) or by anyone who has an emission of semen,

⁶ But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean^(A) on account of a dead body.^(B) So they came to Moses and Aaron^(C) that same day ⁷ and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?^(D)”
