8 And Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for Yahweh and the other lot for the [a]scapegoat. 9 Then Aaron shall bring near the goat on which the lot for Yahweh fell, and he shall offer it as a sin offering. 10 But the goat on which the lot for the [b]scapegoat fell shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make (A)atonement upon it, to send it out into the wilderness as the [c]scapegoat.

8 He is to cast lots(A) for the two goats—one lot for the Lord and the other for the scapegoat.[a](B) 9 Aaron shall bring the goat whose lot falls to the Lord and sacrifice it for a sin offering. 10 But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement(C) by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.
