Aaron will draw names for the two goats, choosing one for the Lord and the other to be sent away. Then Aaron will bring the goat that was chosen for the Lord and give it as a sin gift. 10 But the goat that was chosen to be sent away will be brought alive before the Lord, for the taking away of sin. And it will be sent into the desert.

He is to cast lots(A) for the two goats—one lot for the Lord and the other for the scapegoat.[a](B) Aaron shall bring the goat whose lot falls to the Lord and sacrifice it for a sin offering. 10 But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement(C) by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.
