Leviticus 18:15-17
New Catholic Bible
15 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife. Her nakedness is like your brother’s nakedness.[a] 17 You shall not uncover the nakedness of both a woman and her daughter. Nor shall you uncover the nakedness of her son’s daughter nor her daughter’s daughter. They are her close relations. It would be shameful.

- Leviticus 18:16 Your brother’s wife: the prohibition against sexual relations with a brother’s widow was qualified in Deut 25:5-6 to allow marriage when there was no male heir. In the New Testament, Herod’s disregard for this law incurs the condemnation of John the Baptist (see Mt 14:4; Mk 6:18).
