⁹ You shall not have intercourse with your sister,^[a](A) your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in your own household or born elsewhere.

¹⁷ If a man marries his sister,^(A) his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and they have intercourse with each other, that is disgraceful; they shall be publicly cut off^[a] from the people; the man shall bear the penalty of having had intercourse with his own sister.

²¹ they shall bring the young woman to the entrance of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death, because she committed a shameful crime in Israel by prostituting herself in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.^(A)

²² “Cursed be anyone who has relations with his sister, whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter!”^(A) And all the people shall answer, “Amen!”
