But the woman had taken the two men(A) and hidden them.(B) She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate,(C) they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.”(D) (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax(E) she had laid out on the roof.)(F)

And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.

But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
