4 He shall not defile himself as a [a]relative by marriage among his people, and so profane himself. 5 (A)They shall not make any baldness on their heads (B)nor shave off the edges of their beards (C)nor make any cuts in their flesh. 6 They shall be holy to their God and (D)not profane the name of their God, for they bring near the offerings [b]to Yahweh by fire, (E)the food of their God; so they shall be holy.

5 “‘Priests must not shave(A) their heads or shave off the edges of their beards(B) or cut their bodies.(C) 6 They must be holy to their God(D) and must not profane the name of their God.(E) Because they present the food offerings to the Lord,(F) the food of their God,(G) they are to be holy.(H)
