³² “‘The Levites always have the right to redeem their houses in the Levitical towns,^(A) which they possess. ³³ So the property of the Levites is redeemable—that is, a house sold in any town they hold—and is to be returned in the Jubilee, because the houses in the towns of the Levites are their property among the Israelites. ³⁴ But the pastureland belonging to their towns must not be sold; it is their permanent possession.^(B)

²⁰ The Lord said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them;^(A) I am your share and your inheritance^(B) among the Israelites.

⁶² All the male Levites a month old or more numbered 23,000.^(A) They were not counted^(B) along with the other Israelites because they received no inheritance^(C) among them.^(D)

Offerings for Priests and Levites

18 The Levitical^(A) priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings^(B) presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance.^{(C) 2} They shall have no inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance,^(D) as he promised them.^(E)

¹⁴ But to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance, since the food offerings presented to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them.^(A)
