²⁹ Further, ^(A)you will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

²⁸ Then the king said to her, “^(A)What ^[a]is on your mind?” And she said, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son so that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ ^29 (B)So we cooked my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, ‘Give your son, so that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”

⁹ And I will make them ^(A)eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh during the siege and in the hardship with which their enemies and those who seek their life will torment them.”’
