But if he be not able to offer a beast, let him offer two turtles, or two young pigeons to the Lord, one for sin, and the other for a holocaust,

And he shall give them to the priest: who shall offer the first for sin, and twist back the head of it to the little pinions, so that it stick to the neck, and be not altogether broken off.

And of its blood he shall sprinkle the side of the altar, and whatsoever is left, he shall let it drop at the bottom thereof, because it is for sin.

“‘Anyone who cannot afford(A) a lamb(B) is to bring two doves or two young pigeons(C) to the Lord as a penalty for their sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. They are to bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one for the sin offering. He is to wring its head from its neck,(D) not dividing it completely,(E) and is to splash(F) some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar;(G) the rest of the blood must be drained out at the base of the altar.(H) It is a sin offering.
