¹⁸ “You are to keep My statutes and ordinances and carefully observe them, so that you may live securely in the land.^{(A) 19} Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat, be satisfied, and live securely in the land.

Blessings for Obedience

28 “Now if you faithfully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all His commands I am giving you today, the Lord your God will put you far above all the nations of the earth.^{(A) 2} All these blessings will come and overtake you, because you obey the Lord your God:

¹² The Lord will open for you His abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands.^(A) You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.

²¹ and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.”^{(A) 22} Then you will defile your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, and call them filth.

²³ Then He will send rain for your seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food, the produce of the ground, will be rich and plentiful. On that day your cattle will graze in open pastures.^(B)
