³⁰ ‘Now ^(A)all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.

²⁴ For the tithe of the sons of Israel, which they offer as an offering to the Lord, I have given to the Levites as an inheritance; therefore I have said concerning them, ‘^(A)They shall have no inheritance among the sons of Israel.’”

²⁸ “^(A)At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year, and you shall deposit it in your ^[a]town. ²⁹ And the Levite, ^(B)because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and ^(C)the stranger, the ^[b]orphan, and the widow who are in your ^[c]town, shall come and ^(D)eat and be satisfied, in order that ^(E)the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

⁵ And those indeed of ^(A)the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have a commandment ^[a]in the Law to collect ^[b]a tenth from the people, that is, from their countrymen, although they ^[c]are descended from Abraham.

⁹ And, so to speak, through Abraham even Levi, who received tithes, has paid tithes, ¹⁰ for he was still in the loins of his ^[a]forefather when Melchizedek met him.
