¹⁶ The priest shall burn them on the altar^(A) as a food offering,^(B) a pleasing aroma.^(C) All the fat^(D) is the Lord’s.^(E)

⁶ They must be holy to their God^(A) and must not profane the name of their God.^(B) Because they present the food offerings to the Lord,^(C) the food of their God,^(D) they are to be holy.^(E)

¹⁷ “Say to Aaron: ‘For the generations to come none of your descendants who has a defect^(A) may come near to offer the food of his God.^(B)

² “Give this command to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time^(A) my food^(B) offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me.’^(C)
