⁵ when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess^(A) in what way they have sinned.

⁴⁰ “‘But if they will confess^(A) their sins^(B) and the sins of their ancestors^(C)—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, ⁴¹ which made me hostile^(D) toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts^(E) are humbled^(F) and they pay^(G) for their sin,

¹⁹ Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory^(A) to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell^(B) me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”
