²⁴ Also the fat of an animal which dies and the fat of an animal ^(A)torn by animals may be put to any other use, but you certainly are not to eat it.

¹⁵ And ^(A)any person who eats an animal which dies or is torn by animals, whether he is a native or a stranger, shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening; then he will become clean.

¹⁴ But I said, “^(A)Oh, Lord ^[a]God! Behold, ^[b]I have ^(B)never been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what ^(C)died of itself or was torn by animals, nor has any ^(D)unclean meat ever entered my mouth!”
