78 All this will be because the mercy of our God is very tender, and heaven’s dawn is about to break upon us, 79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and death’s shadow, and to guide us to the path of peace.”
80 The little boy greatly loved God[a] and when he grew up he lived out in the lonely wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel.

78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun(A) will come to us from heaven
79 to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,(B)
to guide our feet into the path of peace.”(C)
80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit[a];(D) and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel.
