46 the master of that servant will come (A)on a day when he does not expect him and (B)at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful. 47 (C)And that servant who (D)knew his master's will but (E)did not get ready (F)or act according to his will, will receive a (G)severe beating. 48 (H)But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, (I)will receive a light beating. (J)Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.(A) He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.(B) 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.(C) From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
