²⁶ “^(A)If anyone comes to Me and does not ^[a]hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

²⁴ For ^(A)whoever wants to save his ^[a]life will lose it, but whoever loses his ^[b]life for My sake, this is the one who will save it.

12 Therefore ^(A)I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to ^(B)present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, ^[a]acceptable to God, which is your ^[b]spiritual service of worship.
