Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers
11 (A)On the way to Jerusalem (B)he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers,[a] (C)who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and (D)show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, (E)praising God with a loud voice; 16 and (F)he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was (G)a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not (H)ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and (I)give praise to God except this (J)foreigner?” 19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; (K)your faith has (L)made you well.”[b]

Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem,(A) Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.(B) 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a](C) met him. They stood at a distance(D) 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master,(E) have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”(F) And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God(G) in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.(H)
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”(I)

and they make haste to shed blood.
17 (B)For in vain is a net spread
in the sight of any bird,
18 but these men (C)lie in wait for their own blood;
they (D)set an ambush for their own lives.
19 (E)Such are the ways of everyone who is (F)greedy for unjust gain;
(G)it takes away the life of its possessors.
The Call of Wisdom
20 (H)Wisdom cries aloud in the street,
in the markets she raises her voice;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
at (I)the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
22 “How long, O (J)simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will (K)scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools (L)hate knowledge?
23 If you turn at my reproof,[a]
behold, I will (M)pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you.
24 (N)Because I have called and (O)you refused to listen,
have (P)stretched out my hand and no one has heeded,
25 because you have (Q)ignored all my counsel
and (R)would have none of my reproof,
26 I also (S)will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when (T)terror strikes you,
27 when terror strikes you like (U)a storm
and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,
when distress and anguish come upon you.
28 (V)Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer;
they will seek me diligently but will not find me.
29 Because they (W)hated knowledge
and (X)did not choose the fear of the Lord,
30 (Y)would have none of my counsel
and (Z)despised all my reproof,
31 therefore they shall eat (AA)the fruit of their way,
and have (AB)their fill of their own devices.

Wisdom’s Rebuke
20 Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,(F)
she raises her voice in the public square;
21 on top of the wall[a] she cries out,
at the city gate she makes her speech:
22 “How long will you who are simple(G) love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate(H) knowledge?
23 Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings.
24 But since you refuse(I) to listen when I call(J)
and no one pays attention(K) when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh(L) when disaster(M) strikes you;
I will mock(N) when calamity overtakes you(O)—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster(P) sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;(Q)
they will look for me but will not find me,(R)
29 since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the Lord.(S)
30 Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,(T)
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.(U)
