Second Coming Foretold

²⁰ Now He was questioned by the Pharisees ^(A)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with ^[a](B)signs that can be observed; ²¹ nor will ^(C)they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is ^[b]in your midst.”

³¹ Do not ^(A)worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ ³² For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for ^(B)your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. ³³ But ^[a]seek first ^[b]His kingdom and His righteousness, and ^(C)all these things will be ^[c]provided to you.

¹¹ “But when the king came in to look over the ^[a]dinner guests, he saw ^(A)a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, ¹² and he *said to him, ‘^(B)Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. ¹³ Then the king said to the servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and throw him into ^(C)the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that place.’

The Mystery of Resurrection

⁵⁰ Now I say this, brothers and sisters, that ^(A)flesh and blood cannot ^(B)inherit the kingdom of God; nor does ^[a]the perishable inherit ^[b](C)the imperishable.

²¹ “^(A)Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. ^22 (B)Many will say to Me on ^(C)that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many ^[a]miracles?’ ²³ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; ^(D)leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
