³⁴ Then Simeon blessed them and told his mother Mary, “Indeed, this child is destined to cause the fall and rise of many in Israel^(A) and to be a sign that will be opposed^[a]—

⁵ For we have found this man to be a plague,^(A) an agitator^(B) among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.^(C)

¹² Conduct^(A) yourselves honorably among the Gentiles,^[a] so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.^(B)

¹⁴ If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ,^(A) you are blessed, because the Spirit^(B) of glory and of God^[a] rests on you.
